How To Freeze Foods To Reduce Kitchen Waste

Have you ever wondered what foods you can freeze?? There are many foods that freeze well, but today I want to share about a few food items you probably didn’t know you could freeze! Knowing how to freeze these foods will help you save money and prevent kitchen waste.

Supplies Needed to Freeze Food

There are a few supplies you will need to help you freeze food. I promise, the initial investment is well worth the amount of money you will save!

I use each of these products when freezing food, and they all work great! A vacuum sealer does the best job of getting all air out of the bag, which is important! So if you will be doing a lot of freezing, I do recommend getting the vacuum sealer. But, each of these products will work.

Benefits of Freezing Food

You might be wondering why it’s important to know how and what foods to freeze. Well, I’ll tell you!

Not only is freezing food a great way to save money on groceries, it’s also a fabulous way to prevent excess food waste in the kitchen.

Here are three of the most common times I freeze food to save money:

1. Freezing Leftovers

Have you ever had to throw out food from your fridge or pantry because it had gone past it’s expired date before you could use it?!?!?

This happens to me All.The.Time!

The trick???? I’ve learned to freeze my leftovers, rather than storing them in the refrigerator. This one simple change has saved me so much money and has prevented a lot of waste in the kitchen. Win, win!

You can easily freeze leftovers by putting them into a freezer ziplock bag or container and tossing them into the freezer! Most leftovers will stay good in the freezer for 3 months. These frozen leftovers are perfect for a quick meal on busy days.

2. Freezing Sale Items

Another reason to freeze food items is to stock up on sale prices. When I find a great sale on perishable foods, I stock up on multiples and freeze most of it to use for later. I just really love not having to pay full price for groceries (or really for anything!).

To find grocery items on sale in your area I recommend downloading the free Flipp app. This awesome app scans all of the local grocery sale ads so you can easily see what’s on sale each week.

When you find a good deal, stock up and freeze the excess!

3. Freezing Foods Before They Expire

If you have items in your pantry that are close to reaching their expiration date, you might want to stick these items in the freezer! The freezer will prolong their shelf date and give you more time to using it, preventing you from having to throw it away. Because, as I like to remind my kids, when you throw food away, it’s the same thing as throwing your hard earned money away. You spent money on that food! Freeze it!

Foods You Didn’t Know You Can Freeze

Alright, now let’s get to the fun part! Most people know that you can freeze strawberries, onions, chicken, etc. Today’s article is all about foods you probably didn’t know that you can freeze.

1. Butter

Butter is a great item to buy on sale and freeze for later use.

How To Freeze:

To keep butter fresh for a few months you can easily freeze it in it’s original packaging. If you are wanting to store it in the freezer for longer, I would put the butter in a freezer bag.

Use the butter within 4 months for best results.

How To Defrost:

You can defrost butter in the refrigerator overnight, or set it on the countertop to let it thaw at room temperature.

2. Flour

Another great item to buy on sale and freeze for later is flour.

How To Freeze:

To freeze flour put it in an airtight container, like a freezer bag, or one of these storage containers. Fill the container as full as possible, the less air the better!

You can keep flour in the freezer for 6-12 months.

How To Defrost:

Let flour thaw at room temperature before using.

3. Eggs

Most people are shocked when I tell them that eggs are freezable! But, it’s true!!! You can freeze eggs.

How To Freeze:

To freeze eggs, just crack them into a bowl and whisk together with a fork. Next, you will pour the eggs into a freezer bag or container, get out as much air from the bag as possible and put them in your freezer. So easy, right?!?!

Eggs will stay good in the freezer for 6-12 months.

How To Defrost:

Thaw eggs in the refrigerator and then use them to make scrambled eggs, omelets, or in baking.

4. Avocados

Another great food to freeze is avocados! Frozen avocados can be used in dips, baking, or I like to put ours in smoothies.

How To Freeze:

You can freeze avocados by chopping them into small pieces and placing the pieces into a freezer bag or freezer container, and then putting the bag into the freezer.

Use your frozen avocados sometime between 3-6 months.

How To Defrost:

Let the frozen avocados sit in the refrigerator overnight to defrost.

5. Cream

Many recipes call for a small amount of cream, which is great except for it leaves us with a large container of leftover cream. Save this excess in the freezer to use at a different date.

Frozen cream cubes will stay fresh for 3-6 months.

How To Defrost:

You can pull your cream cubes straight from the freezer and directly into your soups or recipes. They can also be defrosted by placing them in the refrigerator overnight.

6. Bread

Buy bread when it is on sale, and then freeze it to use for later! We have a “day old bread store” in my city that sales loaves of bread that are close to their expiration dates. I love to go every few weeks and buy a few loaves to stick in my freezer and use from time to time.

How To Freeze:

Bread is one of the easiest thing to freeze! All you have to do is put it in the freezer, and done!

The packaging the bread comes in from the store is enough to keep the bread fresh for a few months! See how easy?!?!

Bread can stay in the freezer for 3 months before using.

How To Defrost:

Your bread will taste best if you defrost it in the oven. Just warm your oven to 325 degrees, remove bread from packaging, and let it sit in the oven for 15-20 minutes.

7. Grated Cheese

Cheese is a great item to buy on sale, or in bulk and then grate to freeze for later. Cheese can turn a little crumbly when frozen, so it works best to grate it first and then freeze.

How To Freeze:

After grating your cheese, simply put it in a freezer bag, remove all of the air, and place it in the freezer.

You can keep frozen cheese in the freezer for 6-9 months for best results.

How To Defrost:

Let the cheese defrost in the refrigerator overnight before using.

8. Milk

Yes! You can freeze milk! Shocked??? I was too!

How To Freeze:

You shouldn’t freeze a milk carton that’s completely full. So, use about 3/4 of a cup from the carton before freezing. This allows room for expansion.

Once you have a small amount of milk out of the carton, you can stick it in the freezer. That’s it!

Milk will stay good in the freezer for 6 months.

How To Defrost:

Defrost milk in the refrigerator overnight before using.

Found a deal on chips? Buy a few and throw them into your freezer to save for your next party (or midnight snacking if you’re like me….).

Chips can be frozen in the sealed bag they came in. All you have to do is toss them into the freezer, bag and all!

10. Pizza Dough

When I make our Friday Night Pizza Dough I always double the recipe and freeze half for the next Friday. This gives me something easy to pull out and use for a quick dinner (and it totally looks like I spent all day making it….when I really just got it from the freezer, win!).

How To Freeze:

To freeze pizza dough you need to put it in a freezer bag, get all of the air out, seal tightly, and freeze.

Use your frozen dough within 3-6 months.

11. Cooked Pasta

Freezing cooked pasta is a great way to preserve any pasta leftovers you might have from dinner. You can freeze spaghetti, rotini, fettuccini noodles, and more! As long as they don’t have the sauce on top, they can be frozen.

How To Freeze:

To freeze cooked pasta, you will first need to let it cool completely and then lightly toss the pasta with olive oil.

Next, lay the pasta in a single layer on a cookie sheet. This doesn’t need to be perfect, but flash freezing does help prevent the pasta from clumping together in the freezer.

Stick the cookie sheet in the freezer and let the pasta freeze for about 1-2 hours (this is called flash freezing).

Once frozen, scoop the pasta off of the cookie sheet and put it in a freezer bag or a freezer container.

Place in the freezer and use within 3 months.

While freezing pasta, you might as well freeze some sauces too! Right??? Right!

You can freeze almost any sauce, including: spaghetti sauce, enchilada sauce, tomato sauce, pizza sauce, and more!

To freeze sauce just put it into a freezer bag or container, get all of the air out, and seal tightly.

Use your frozen sauces within 3-6 months.

13. Herbs

Herbs are definitely freezable! If you enjoy gardening (like I do!) freezing your home grown herbs is a great way to save money!

How To Freeze:

I love to freeze my garden herbs in an ice cube tray. This gives me quick access to them when I need them.

To do this you will need to fill an ice cube tray cube with herbs to about 3/4 full, next add olive oil until the cube is full and freeze.

Once frozen, take the individual cubes out of the tray and place them into a freezer bag.

For best results use frozen herbs within 3-6 months.

How To Defrost:

You can put the frozen herb cubes straight from the bag into soups and stews.

14. Pancakes

Pancakes are my busy mom hack to less stressful mornings! They are so easy to double your favorite pancake recipe, pop half of them in the freezer, and then pull them out for breakfast when you just don’t have time to cook anything else!

15. Sandwiches

I first heard about freezing sandwiches from Fun Cheap or Free! This is a great way to save your kids uneaten sandwiches, or to prepare for an upcoming busy day.

16. Grapes

Frozen grapes are one of our very favorite snacks. They are juicy and delicious! My kids claim (and I have to agree!) that frozen grapes taste just like a grape snow cone! You must try this! When you find grapes on sale, buy a few extra bags to freeze.

How To Freeze:

The first step to freezing grapes is to wash them and then let them dry thoroughly. Once the grapes are dry place them into a freezer bag, take out all air, seal tightly and then place in the freezer.

Use within 3 months.

How To Defrost:

Don’t defrost your frozen grapes! Eat the grapes straight out of the bag for a delicious snack!

17. Nuts

To keep your nuts fresh for longer, freeze them!

How To Freeze:

Nuts are easy to freeze! Just put them into a freezer bag, get out all of the air, and seal tightly.

Frozen nuts should be used within 6 months.

How To Defrost:

Let your frozen nuts sit in the refrigerator overnight to defrost and then use.

18. Mashed Potatoes

I grew up on an Idaho potato farm, so I am alllll about the potatoes! My husband loves to make mashed potatoes at our house, but he always tends to make more than we eat (eyes bigger than the stomach thing…..).

Instead of throwing these extra potatoes away, we freeze them to use for another day!

How To Freeze:

Freeze your mashed potatoes in a freezer bag or freezer container. Remove as much air as possible, seal tight and put into the freezer.

How To Defrost:

To use frozen mashed potatoes, let them thaw in the refrigerator and then reheat in a small pot over the stove. While heating on stove add a couple of tablespoons of sour cream. This will give them a yummy and creamy consistency.

19. Frosting

Yep! You can even freeze frosting! And it’s very easy to do!

How To Freeze:

Just scoop the frosting into a freezer bag, get all of the air out and seal tightly. Done and done!

The bag can then be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months.

How To Defrost:

To thaw frosting, let it sit in the refrigerator over night and then it’s ready to use!

How to make the best pizza sauce from scratch

Did you know that this homemade pizza sauce recipe is actually ridiculously easy to make at home?? Yep! It is! Not only is it easy, but it’s also super cheap! You will only need a few ingredients from your pantry and you are good to go.

My family loves our monthly tradition of Friday Night Family Pizza and Movie Night. We’ve been doing this tradition for over a decade, and the teens still look forward to it (I call this a win)! On the first Friday of every month we eat pizza and watch a movie together as a family. So simple and frugal, but also so fun!

Most months I make my no fail pizza crust recipe and top it with this easy homemade pizza sauce. Some months we might mix it up a little and try a new type of homemade pizza, or other months we order a pizza for takeout.

It doesn’t matter exactly where the pizza comes from, what matters the most is that we are spending time together and making memories.

Let’s get to the recipe!

Gather Your Ingredients

The first thing you need to do is gather all of your ingredients. For this easy pizza sauce recipe you will need:

1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
6 oz. warm water
3 Tbsp grated parmesan cheese
1 tsp minced garlic
1 Tbsp honey
3/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp dried marjoram
1/4 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp black pepper
Small shake of red pepper flakes
Salt to taste

I honestly love this mix of ingredients! It makes such a great tasting pizza sauce!

Now, that you have all of your ingredients, it’s time to mix it all together! You won’t believe how easy this is!

All you have to do is get out a medium sized bowl, add all of the ingredients listed above and stir! It takes like 5 minutes (prob less!).

Let the sauce sit for 30-45 minutes so the flavors will blend together.

Lastly, spread the sauce on your favorite pizza dough recipe and bake according to pizza instructions.

How To Make Frugal Living Fun

You can still have fun and enjoy life while living on a budget!

I’m frugal. Obviously. I write an entire blog about frugal living. Frugal living makes me happy, it brings me peace, and helps me feel content. However, over the years I have learned that there are many people who misunderstand my lifestyle. I’ve received comments like, “Ew. Frugal living is so gross” or “I hate saving money, it makes life not as fun.”

Now, I understand that the lifestyle I enjoy might not be the lifestyle that others will enjoy. But, one of my goals is to help others understand that frugal living doesn’t have to make life stifling or boring. You can still live a full and happy life while being frugal, and I want to help you make it happen!

Having Fun While Saving Money

First, let’s discuss what having fun means!

The definition of fun is to have enjoyment or light hearted amusement.

Somewhere along the way we have convinced ourselves that in order to have enjoyment we have to spend money, buy experiences, purchase items, or go on trips.

But, the truth is that having fun can be completely free and done in so many unique ways!

Make It A Game

Make frugal living a game! See how much money you can save each month and try to slowly increase how much less you spend month by month. Make sure to give yourself some rewards when you meet your goals!

If you are a competitive person, you might want to set up a little competition with a friend or family member. See who can find the most frugal things to do throughout the week. Whoever wins has to make the other person cookies!

Free Community Events

One of the best ways to get out of the house is to attend free community events! Most communities will host a variety of free events throughout the year. These are the perfect activities to get out of the house, without having to spend money on entertainment.

A few of the free events I’ve found in my local community are:

Christmas Tree Lighting
Festivals
Pumpkin Walk
Art Shows
Concerts in the Park

And so much more!

The best places to find free events is on local facebook groups. I search these groups regularly to find free activities for my family to enjoy.

Fun Free Things You Can Do At Home

You don’t even have to leave your house to be frugal and have fun! There are so many activities you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home.

Play a card game. There are many single player card games you can enjoy by yourself (hello solitaire) or enjoy some time with your friends or family playing a multi player card game.
Read a book. Reading is one of my favorite past times, and the best part is you have access to thousands and thousands of free books through your local library! Yay! If audiobooks is more your thing, no worries, you can listen to audiobooks for free using the methods listed here.
Have a dance party. Turn on some of your favorite tunes and show off your best dance moves. I love dance parties with myself, or with my family! It’s always sure to put me in a good mood!
Practice drawing by watching free YouTube videos.
Learn to cook something new. Invite friends over to taste test it for you!
Watch a movie! You could cozy up by yourself to watch your favorite movie, or invite some friends over for a fun movie night.
Start exercising! There are so so many free exercise videos on YouTube you could use. You could even invite over a few friends to make it more of a party!
Put together a puzzle! I always find really cheap puzzles at the thrift store! Just be careful, sometimes they are missing a few pieces!
Have a spa day. Treat yourself to a warm bath, face mask, and a home manicure.

Free Things To Do Outside

This beautiful world is full of many fun and free things you can do, just by stepping outside! Here are some of my favorite fun things to do outside that won’t cost you any money.

Go on a hike! Find somewhere close to your house for a fun day hike. Even if you aren’t much of a hiker, a small walk through the woods is always great for the soul!
Play frisbee golf. Frisbees are super cheap, and once you buy one you can use it forever and ever. Invest in a cheap frisbee and then enjoy a few frisbee golf courses in your area. They are usually located in a park for free!
Have a picnic in the park. Pack your favorite lunch and go to the park for a fun outdoor picnic. Invite your friends or family members….or just eat by yourself and enjoy some quiet alone time.
Walk around the neighborhood. Maybe hiking isn’t your thing, try going for a nice walk around your neighborhood, or even explore a new neighborhood if you want something new.
Go to the beach. Sadly, I do not live near a beach…but if I did then I would be there all the time! It’s the perfect free and fun activity!

Free Things To Do As A Group

I’ve found that a lot of what makes frugal living appear less fun is when you have to decline invites from friends to participate in things that just aren’t in your budget. I get it, I struggle having to say no to those things as well.

What I have found to do instead as a way to keep myself social and make frugal living fun, is to be the one who makes the invites, and suggest frugal group activities!

Here are a few frugal activities you can do with a group:

Host a game night. Group games are a fun and frugal way to get together with friends, to laugh, and have fun together. One of my favorite group games is called Fishbowl. Learn how to play it here.
Go on an adventure. Invite a few friends to explore a new neighborhood, or go on a drive to somewhere you’ve never been before. Adventures are always so much more fun with friends!
Form a book club. One of my favorite things each month is meeting with a group of friends to discuss books! We have formed a wonderful friendship and will spend hours laughing and talking.
Have a viewing party. You could invite friends over to watch a football game, or a new movie that was just released. Ask everyone to bring a snack and enjoy watching something all together.
Plan a karaoke night. You can do karaoke right at home, without going out. Just look up some youtube karaoke videos, and let everyone have a turn standing and singing.
Host a potluck or BBQ. Ask all of your friends to bring a favorite dish and enjoy a eating dinner together without spending tons of money.

The Best Ways To Store Strawberries To Keep Them Fresh Longer

It’s strawberry season at my house! Oh how I love picking fresh strawberries from the garden. There is just nothing better than sitting on my backyard deck eating a bowl of freshly picked strawberries. However, the one thing I do not like about strawberry season is when my beautiful, perfect strawberries start to go bad (so sad!!!). Fortunately over the years I have learned a few tricks about how to keep strawberries fresh! It takes a little extra work and prep, but it is so worth it to keep your strawberries from spoiling quickly.

These tips for keeping strawberries fresh work for both garden strawberries and store bought strawberries! I try to look for strawberry sales during the spring and buy a huge batch to eat throughout the week.

Feel free to pick and choose which method you prefer for your preventing spoiled strawberries! I’m just sharing a few of my favorites below.

1. Wash Strawberries In Vinegar Solution

I’m super excited to share this first method for keeping strawberries fresh (prob because it’s my fave!) I learned it a few years ago and my life changed! Seriously! I’ve thrown so many less strawberries away, making my belly and wallet very happy!

One of the best ways I have found to keep your strawberries fresh longer is to wash them in a vinegar solution before storing them in the fridge.

I love this method because:

It’s easy
It’s quick
It’s cheap
It works!

Washing strawberries in a vinegar bath only takes a few minutes of prep time, but will make a huge difference (promise!).

To make your vinegar solution, simply combine one part vinegar to three parts water in a clean sink (I honestly just eyeball this part!). Place your strawberries in the vinegar solution and let them soak for about 5 minutes. Make sure to stir them around a few times so they all get evenly bathed!

After 5 minutes, rinse the strawberries thoroughly in a strainer and lay them on a paper towel to dry for 1-2 hours.

Once the strawberries are thoroughly dry (this is important!), put them back into their original container and store them in the fridge.

I personally like the containers that strawberries come in from the store, but I know a lot of people swear by these storage containers from Amazon.

2. Store Strawberries in a Mason Jar

Another way to keep your strawberries fresh longer is to store them, unwashed, in an airtight glass mason jar.

I’ve tried this strategy a few times and it does a great job at prolonging the life of your strawberries.

I love the mason jar method because:

It’s easy
It’s quick

However, I have found a couple of things that I don’t like about this method.

The first thing that I don’t like is that the bottom layer of strawberries tend to become soft and mushy fairly quickly. The weight from the strawberries stored on top of them tend to squish the bottom layers, making some of your delicious strawberries go bad faster than they should (which is what we are trying to avoid!!).

And the second thing I dislike about storing strawberries in a mason jar is that a mason jar typically doesn’t have a large storing capacity. So, you will need a few jars to store a large amount of strawberries. This isn’t a huge deal breaker, but just something I have noticed.

3. Store Strawberries Unwashed in Fridge

Another storing method I have tried is to simply store strawberries in the fridge unwashed. I know, I know…..unwashed sounds a little absurd, but there is good reason behind this idea.

Strawberries will begin to spoil when they are wet, so if you store them pre washed you will ensure the strawberries don’t experience any excess moisture.

I love the unwashed strawberry method because:

It’s easy
It’s quick
It’s cheap

However, I have learned that this method will not keep your strawberries fresh for days and days. If you plan to eat your strawberries within the next day or two, storing them unwashed in the fridge will work just fine. But, if you want them to last longer, then I would recommend trying a different method.

A Few Tips to Remember

I have used each of these three methods in my attempts to keep my strawberries fresh.

However, I don’t believe they are all created equal, and I highly recommend you give the vinegar wash a try! Although it is a little more time consuming, it has worked the best for me!

Here are a few tips for you to keep in mind:

Strawberries need to be stored dry. If you wash them, make sure to let them thoroughly dry before refrigerating. I have found that storing strawberries in the fridge, on a paper towel will help absorb any excess moisture.
Make sure to remove any moldy strawberries before storing strawberries. One moldy berry in the container will ruin the rest of the bunch.
Keeping strawberries on your counter for a day will be fine, but if you want them to last any longer than that, you will want to store them in your fridge.
Strawberries are very easy to freeze! I love buying strawberries on sale, or picking them from my garden and freezing them for long term storage. Here’s my easy tutorial for freezing strawberries!

Frugal tips for youth participating in sports

As a parent of three kids I’m always trying to find new ways about how to save money on kids sports.

It’s not an easy task!

The sporting world expenses always seem to add up quickly.

First, you have the sign up fees, and then the uniform and practice equipment, followed by travel expenses, and so on and so forth.

Once you feel like you have finally got a handle on the expenses a new team or sport or league pops up that your child wants to join, and the sports expenses come rolling in again.

Now, I understand that having your kids participate in sports or extracurricular activities is not a necessity…but that doesn’t matter, because it’s OK to spend money on things that makes us happy or that we feel is a priority in our life.

Sports aren’t a huge priority for my kids, but they are something that they have enjoyed from time to time, so I’ve had to learn a few frugal tips for helping to offset the costs. I’m excited to share those tips with you!

1. Shop Thrift Stores

One of the biggest ways to save money on kids sports is to buy their equipment gently used. You can find high quality balls, nets, cleats, ballet shoes, and other supplies for a great price at thrift stores. Most likely you will have to shop around to a few different stores to find everything that you need, but the savings will be worth it!

In addition to thrift stores check on Facebook marketplace and garage sales for gently used sports equipment.

2. Limit The Amount Of Sports

I know how important it is in some families to have your kids participate in a lot of sports and activities. As parents we naturally want to give our kids as many opportunities as possible.

However, when it comes to being frugal it is better to prioritize and pick and choose the sports that are most important.

You could encourage your kids to choose just one sport at a time to play. Or maybe they can play one sport a year. The way you prioritize the sports will look different for every family, and that’s ok! Do whatever is best for you and your family!

3. Shop Around For Different Leagues

If you want to save money on kids sports it’s always important to shop around before signing your kids up.

When I search “youth football leagues” in my area I will found a handful of different options. Each of them with pros and cons about why I should sign my kids up for their program, including a variety of price options.

As you do your research to find the best fit for your kids sports, make sure to look into the price and compare it with different leagues and programs in your area.

4. Choose Rec Leagues Over Club Leagues

Speaking of shopping around for different leagues, recreation leagues will almost always be much cheaper than a club league.

Another benefit for rec leagues is that they usually require less of a time commitment and less travel, which will save you even more money in those extra expenses.

Recreation leagues are especially beneficial for beginners trying to decide which sports they like best, or those wanting to play to learn a new skill and have fun, rather than competitively.

5. Sign All Of Your Kids Up For The Same Sport

Another important way to save money on school sports is to sign all of your kids up for the same sport! This way they can share the same equipment, and often leagues will give discounts for multiple kids in the same family.

6. Look Into School Sports

Often schools will offer sports at very affordable prices, maybe even free! I’ve had two examples recently.

I was looking into signing my son up for basketball, then I saw that his school was offering a league for free! That’s right, NO participation fee. This was much cheaper than any other city, rec, or club league I was looking into.

Another example was with my daughter and tennis. I considered signing her up for tennis lessons, but then decided to just have her join the school team. She is getting daily tennis instruction and practice for 4 months for the exact same price I would have paid to have her take lessons once a week for one month! Such a savings!

7. Carpool To Practice, Games and Tournaments

Many sports require daily practices and out of town games or tournaments. To save money on gas, try to find a few parents to carpool with! You can each take turns driving the kids to and from their sporting events. Everyone takes a turn, and everyone saves money! Yay!

8. Pack Snacks and Meals From Home

Speaking of traveling, we all need to eat! Especially hungry athletes! Rather than getting into the habit of buying takeout food while watching games, pack snacks and meals from your own pantry instead!

Cheese and Crackers
Granola Bar
Hard Boiled Eggs

9. Volunteer Your Time

Don’t be afraid to volunteer your time to your child’s teams. Many leagues will give discounts if a parent is willing to volunteer as a coach or help in some way. Make sure to ask your sports leagues about this option and jump in if it’s a possibility!

When my daughter participated in gymnastics years ago, I was able to get a huge discount from her monthly tuition by volunteering to help clean the gym once a week! It was a savings I happily took advantage of.

10. Hire A Teen Instructor

If you feel the desire to give your child some one on one instruction to help them develop in their sport, consider hiring a teen instructor to work with them.

Most teens will be willing to teach your child sport skills, for a much cheaper rate than many private coaches charge.
